Reflection

Despite having endured several mini-heart attacks when assigned the task of creating and developing my own blog, I can truthfully say that my blog has changed my life for the better. Thus, I want to relate my blogging experience to one of my favorite sayings; blogging has taught me how to “see the forest for the trees.” Once skeptical of mastering the process of writing, I now see how far I have come; I am even more confident to see how far I will go because this is just the beginning for me. My blog served as a creative outlet to express my thoughts in correlation to rhetoric itself; presenting my own authentic argument, defending my central thesis, and simply teaching me HOW and WHEN to take risks. Considering how long it would take me to brainstorm the central focus of an individual post, I could not be any happier that everything has easily fallen into place.
Reflecting on how I now have all my ducks in a row, I believe that the first duck in the pond that led the others to fall into place is the Writing That Moves Me blog post; I highlighted the pain and suffering I endured from a traumatic experience, yet discuss how I was still able to discover the beauty in all the ugly that surrounded me. Also, I am a true believer in the growth mindset ideology as I know that I have endless potential to transform into an even better me each day. Looking back at my original blog posts to now, I am left speechless over how much my writing has improved. I used to write “by the book” and never took risks, but I have since written blog posts on the Smurfs and dressed up in various outfits! If you showed me my website one year ago today and told me that I was the creator behind it, I would state my famous line “LOL” because I still cannot believe that I had this much fun creating something like this. Words can never trace back as to what helped everything to simply click for me, but I believe it was Dr.Andrews and her motivation to push us in the right direction. With respect to our course goals, I realized that I was getting nowhere with my writing style, so I knew that my only hope of success was to “Shake It Up” like that old Disney Show. (See, I just took a risk in my writing again!) I really hope you enjoyed my blog posts as much as I had fun writing them. (the last six).
