Writing is Rhetorical

Well, no duhhhhhh? Let me explain though! I myself had been introduced to the Rhetorical Analysis in my past life, however, I only thought that Rhetoric encompassed the Rhetorical Analysis. (Boy was I so wrong) After indulging in everything this class has offered me, I now know that Rhetoric surrounds us in our daily lives even when we are not in class; it is the "art of persuasion" as Aristotle once said.

Think about a time in which you argued with you your parents over getting a new phone; telling your parents that a wider phone screen has been proven to improve school performance. (I wonder who has done that...HMMMMM) Although I was a brat, I used Rhetoric by standing my ground and PERSUADING my audience (my parents) that a new phone was NECESSARY (IMPEDING ACTION). Referencing the various projects we completed this semester, my genre remix, inquiry analysis, blogs, and daybook contained components of Rhetoric.

Likewise, while each of my projects were wildly different in experiences and perspectives, they were ultimately linked as a representation of me informing YOU what I have learned. Rhetoric is such a useful and beautiful thing. After all, when you look the term up in the dictionary, there is a picture of my face attached to it...

My purpose for incorporating this image is to prove how great I am...(Purpose is an element of Rhetoric! See that?!)
