Reflection

Who has the ability of transforming a boring topic into something fun and engaging for all to witness? Vinny! Hoping to shed light on a relevant topic that is near and dear to my heart, I knew I needed to craft my inquiry based research in a unique way that would grab the attention of my audience. With appreciation to writing being a process, I gained a new awareness of my research when I presented my Sounding Board Presentation. Having received constructive and positive feedback from my peers on post-it notes, I returned to my room that day and began devising how I would execute this project.

Being that I am a master at making videos and am quite an “actor,” I made the decision to document my understanding of the topic through videos. Unlike my Genre Remix Project that only contained a video, I made the rhetorical choice of producing an actual essay that coincided with my overall argument too. Having TRANSFERRED my knowledge of AP United States Government and Politics, I drafted a shi*** first draft. Revision after revision, I knew I had struck gold when I collaborated with Ben and Miranda who provided me with feedback that sparked the beauty in my inquiry analysis. While it was a long and tedious PROCESS, I made the rhetorical decision to break up my composed essay on my website so it looked more appealing to the common viewer. To elaborate, I separated my analysis into separate tabs; the first being a Q and A session to answer the questions asked by my peers when I presented my Sounding Board.

From there, I made each point of my thesis become an individual tab so that I could give each point to my argument the care it deserves. In terms of presentation and overall layout, I believe that my choice as the rhetor was successful because it was less scary to the eye as it was not a million words on one page. Referencing back to my glorious videos, I dressed up as Uncle Sam because I looked great in those pants before they ripped...and also because Uncle Sam is a symbol for American democracy. (HE RELATES TO MY PROJECT SINCE MY INQUIRY IS ESSENTIALLY EXPRESSING IF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS DEMOCRATIC OR NOT) Overall, I had a blast constructing my inquiry analysis and I am praying that you do not think that I am a total weirdo for it. The word on the street is that I am a PROFESSIONAL NERD...AND I AM SO PROUD OF IT! Again, thank you guys so much for taking the time out of your busy day to learn about my inquiry analysis. I really hope you enjoyed and understand the benefits of the NPVIC. Even if you do not agree with me, that is totally fine as I am glad to have at least got you thinking about the topic. In the end, my goal is that you gained a sense of self-awareness; if so, then I did my job. And if you are up to form a compromise among our differing opinions, I am up for that too in honor of the Great Compromiser himself, Henry Clay. Enjoy the rest of your day!
